Default template make components

Hello, I work with sheet metal multibody parts in Inventor 2019. I have a custom sheet metal template that I use, but when I do make components the default template is set to "Sheet Metal.ipt". I want to set this to my custom template and I've found a setting in the Document Setting, modeling tab.

I've set the default template to my custom template and tested it, but it didn't work. I also tested it with a standard part and then it works fine.

Does someone know why it doesn't work for sheet metal parts, and is this solved in a later Inventor version?

Hello @L.Greft I have tested the behavior in 2021 and found that changing the Document Settings > Modeling > Make Components Dialog > Template > Choose Sheet Metal Test.ipt does not stick even after Save Copy As Template.

I have logged with development as INVGEN-47290 to investigate further. The workaround is obviously to just manually select the template you want to use. Thanks for reporting we will research more and see what can be done.

Thank you @kelly.young for letting me know!

Luckily our multibody parts don't have a lot of solids, so the workaround is fine for now.
