Hello,

Unfortunately, draft shaft face is not able to be a valid datum target right now, it should be a great enhancement candidate and feel free to add new idea to ideastation.

The workaround more like create a co-axis surface and make the datum annotation on top of it and then set the surface as invisible.

Hope it helps and thanks for the feedback!

1) The Above representation may not be inline with GD&T ASME14.5Y-2009 Standard.

2) As per the blog post

http://blogs.autodesk.com/inventor/2017/03/24/more-model-based-definition-in-autodesk-inventor/

Inventor uses GD&T engine from Sigmetrix  and GD&T Advisor 2.3.0 of Sigmetrix support Datum targets..

So, Which version of the Engine Inventor uses, If it is 2.3.0 then this functionality should be available in the background ?

As the MBD Doesn't have appropriate items for datum applications as per ASME 14.41 . Which will make the MBD more of a representative/showcase tool then practical usable one .
