Dashed lines in a layer

Hello,

I am struggling with the following, maybe somebody has experience with this:

1. Inside Inventor drawing (.idw) I have clicked an option -> "Define new symbol".

2. There I have imported a drawing from AutoCAD.  One simple Top view.

3. I have created a purple circle around that Top view and placed it in a layer with a dashed line.

But if I zoom out I do not see those dashed lines. They can be seen only if I zoom in really close.

Is there a way to adjust this or it simply has to be as it is...?

Hi Tom,

You can edit the .Lin File to modify the line spacing.

Go to edit layer

Click on the arrow for choosing different type of line type and scroll all the way to the bottom and select other

Click on load

This will tell you where the .Lin file is located (below is mine, yours might be different).

Open up the .lin file with Notepad and create a new line type by copy pasting, I called mine test

now all you need to do is to change the number, first number represent the lines length and the second number represent the space between the lines.

Hope this helps

Hi! Another place to look at. Go to Tools -> App Options -> Drawing -> Display Line Weight -> Settings -> select "Display true line weight."

Many thanks!

Hi Alexander,

Awesome, I will try it on Monday. But this is indeed what I was looking for.

Thank you a lot!
