I searched in the posted questions/answers in the community to add a custom profile for the frame generator

but it wouldn't work in my case.

Can you please tell me how to make a custom profiles with attached profile.

@G.DeGheest

Welcome to the community..

Inventor 2011 still?   Smiley Very Happy

You need to create a custom read/write (content center) library.  Have you done this?

I didn't look at you part but have you authored it for structural shapes?   I don't remember where its located in Inventor 2011.

Hi Curtis,

Thank you for your quick answer. I realy can have a huge advantage if I could use the Frame Generator.

I followed the video to “Create Custom Frame Profiles” but I am missing the create Library button.

--> Create Library creates a library an adds it to the Content Center configuration.

This option is available only for Desktop Content libraries.

How can I create a new Library?

Can I use My Library?

Hi,

I find out how I can add a custom profile in "My Library"

First I make a "profile" part, then I make it a "Structural Shape" and at last I "Publisch Part"

This methode worked out for me,

thanks for the links they were very useful.

After creating a custom profile, if you copy the finished part/frame assembly to another machine/customer, will they be able to open the frame? Or will they get an error because the profile is not found in their Library?

Frame generator stores the related frame members underneath (in sub-folders) the location where the frame generator model is stored.  Review this article https://synergiscadblog.com/2016/01/14/inventor-frame-generator-skeleton-and-model-structure/ for additional info.
