Custom Content Lock Nut Component Authoring - Category Parameters greyed out

Hello,

Custom read write desktop Content Centre created & working.

I would like to add a section for 'Lock Nuts' - reading advice from here which suggested you can't copy. I redrew from scratch & the same issue exists.

I can't map my parameters to custom content ones..the dialogue box is greyed out:

Above I've created a new folder - this was to be renamed 'Lock Nuts'

Below the New Folder is missing. There is no option to author the part to a different class.

If the part is authored to something 'close', then it won't go into a different folder..

I'll try again...

Thanks

First there's no folders in the Content Center Editor..  They are called categories..  Smiley Very Happy

Is the category still called new category or did you rename it?

Second, is the lock nut authored for hardware (to be used in bolted connections)?

Finally, in all the years I've done custom content center I never had to change the category properties so explain to me what you are trying to accomplish here.

@andrew_canfield

It appears that you can create a sub-category under one of the main nut categories, if you are in your read-write library.... and then that becomes available to you during the authoring process.

So, perhaps, under Hex Nuts, you create a sub category called Lock Nuts.  Do this before you author.  Then when you go to author the nut, that sub folder should be available to you for authoring.  Key word is "should".

Hello Mark

Here is the part, it has two heights, I'd like these as columns in CC so I  can add the following:

Aerotight.JPG

It's not needed for bolted connections. The imate is only needed on the lower edge.

Thanks for looking.

The mapping is predefined per category.

You can't map what ever you want in a pre existing section.

The parameter arn't greyed out if ite a fresh category at the top level.

It's lots of fun too! (not)
