Curved Object working planes

I've been through quite a few different sources trying to figure this out but to no avail.  I am trying to work with a curved object where I need to place more objects on top.  I've included a couple images to illustrate my problem.  This is being done on Inventor 2014 by me during class time with the intent of 3D printing it.

The details of the additional ridge and the "star" in the center of it need to be added to the top of the construct I already have.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

two ways to do this, the first would be to model it flat then apply "Bend Part"  the other option would be to lay out the additional features and then apply them using the Emboss/Engrave command

By the by, how would you bend an object?

Forgive me, I'm doing this from memory and on my phone

In the part, go to the morning tab (first tab) then to the modify panel (2nd panel from left) there's a flyout for they panel and one of the options is bend
