Crop View Cut Lines Not Displayed When Reference Geometry Is Included in BOM – Inventor 2026.1.1

Hi all,

I'm encountering a persistent issue in Inventor 2026.1.1 when working with cropped views in drawings.

When I create a crop view of an assembly that includes components marked as Reference in the BOM structure, the "Display Crop Cut Lines" option does not show the expected crop boundary lines. This happens inconsistently—sometimes the crop lines appear, sometimes they don't—even when the reference geometry is clearly within the cropped area.

What I’ve tried:
- Adjusting the view margin in the drawing view settings.
- Temporarily changing the BOM structure of the reference parts to "Default" and then back to "Reference".

These workarounds helped in some views but not consistently across all of them.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a known fix or a more reliable workaround? Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,
TG

Welcome to the forum!  I am seeing the same behavior, but only those Crop lines that cross the Reference components are not shown.  Those crossing Normal components are there.  @johnsonshiue is this by design?

Hi! The behavior could be geometry related. Regardless, it does not sound right to me. Try editing the base view -> Justification -> select Fixed. Does it work more persistently? Please share the files and steps to reproduce with me directly at johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thansk!

Thanks for the invitation and swift reply guys 🙂

Justification->fixed didn't help.

But I've just found out that problem is on sections with turned "Slice All Parts" in Edit Section Properties. With that option turned off crop lines become visible.

I'm not sure if that is how it supposed to work though.

Sorry but I cannot share files due to company policy.
