Creating ductwork (HVAC)

I work for an engineering firm, where we manufacture and service equipment for the pulp & paper industry.  A large part of work has to do with the design of ductwork (air vents).  We are well aware that you can use the 'Sweep' command, in conjunction with the 'Shell' command in order to achieve this.  However, the issue we're having is, while designing a 90 degree elbow duct is more or less straightforward, many of our duct runs have **** angles (30 degree elbows, 45 degree elbows, etc).

My questions is this:  Is there another software program available (besides Inventor) that specializes in the design of industrial ductwork?  Or, is there simply an extension (or software 'add-on') that we can enable in Inventor to accomplish this?  Thanks!

Hi Eric,

Yes, Autodesk has REVIT, among many other things related to Building Engineering, it can help design duct systems:

You may want to look at this Autodesk product: http://www.autodesk.com/products/fabrication-products/features/fabrication-camduct/all/list-view.  This is a old youtube video but shows camduct in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTKFW9D3RAc

Here's an add-on for Inventor: http://www.ductpro.net/

As a side note, did you ever google this?  I did and it a couple of seconds I have numerous hits..  Smiley Wink   Just wondering..
