Creating a plane through an axis

Hi

I can't see any way of achieving what I want.

Please see attached image below.

I've got a point cloud, and have set a plane (A) to represent the floor.

I now need to create plane B, perpendicular to plane A, to represent the inside wall of the enclosure.

I created points 1 and 2 on the surface of the wall, then created an axis through them.

I now need to create plane B by defining it as through the axis, normal to plane A.  The only command like this I can see is "Angle to Plane around Edge", but the axis isn't an "edge" so I can't use this command.

Is there a way to make the axis into an edge, or any alternative methods?

Many thanks

Don't use filters.

Just do this:

  1. Create new plane,
  2. select plane A
  3. select axis.

This will create a angled plane between plane A rotating in the Axis. Give 90º.

After clicking Work Plane command just pick the axis and then the bottom plane. That's it if I got the question correct...

I think this doesn't work because the axis is not parallel to the plane.

Try the following:

  1. Create new plane,
  2. Select plane A
  3. Select a point

Thanks.

I tried this, but if I select the axis I can't then select the plane, and vice versa.

I'm not aware that I'm using any filters.

Is this what you mean?  Choose Select Features?

The axis is not parallel to the plane, but why should it need to be?  It should still be possible to define it using the axis and plane A regardless.

  1. Create new plane,
  2. Select plane A
  3. Select a point

just creates a plane through the point that is parallel to plane A...

Thanks for the help.

Roelof is right. If the axis in not parallel to plane it wont work (but it should as far as I can see it).

Try this workaround instead:

Hi

Thank you for your suggestion.  For some reason when I click on the axis it won't project onto the plane, but instead I projected the two points onto the plane, and then created a new axis through those points.  This achieved the same thing.

Many thanks for taking the time to help.
