Create read write part library

Hello everyone,

I´m trying to create custom flexible tubes/hoses (with diameters that don´t exist in the standard library) but I can´t seem to figure out how to create a read write part library to add my custom tubes. I´ve read the articles and watched the you tube videos that I could find on the subject, but haven´t been able to find anything that shows me exactly how to do it. The articles refer to things like go to the "autodesk vault manager" or "content library" which I can´t seem to be able to find. I found similar things like "open from content center" or "edit content center", but neither lets me create a new library from what I can see.

Can someone please show me step by step (with pictures or explaining exactly where the features/folders are) how to create a custom read/write part library? This seems like it should be easy, but I´ve already spent way to long trying to figure it out and need some help.

Thanks,

Nicole

@Mark.Lancaster Thats probably a valid suggestion.. I've never used the tube & pipe module..

I do wire harness all day long and can easily modify the default cable&harness libraries there but none of that is in the content center at all..

I didn't expect tube&pipe to be in the content centers either only because I assumed (<<--- my downfall) consistency between those 2 modules.. But maybe not..

But I've got this beautiful land in Florida just under the water table if you are interested... I'll let it go fairly cheap

Its a bit swampy but totally build-able.. I promise.. Smiley Tongue

Thanks Mark Lancaster,

That was just what I was looking for! Part 2 of the article helped me set up my read/write library, and Part 3 showed me how to make and add in my custom tubes.

Not sure why Autodesk doesn´t have something like that on their website, but you wrote a great article!

Kudos!

Sorry mcgyvr,

Managing and creating tube and pipe styles only seem to be for if you want to work with one of the tubes or pipes already in their library (at least from my limited experience). They don´t let you modify the ID or OD manually.

Thanks for your help though,

Nicole
