Create a Nest Study Part Selection Not Working

I am using Inventor Nesting 2021 and when I create a new Nest study I cannot select the parts I wish to use. It automatically selects all parts and doesn't show a list of the items to select/deselect if needed. Is anyone experienced this issue and have a resolution? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Nesting 2021.

Two options to not use a part in an assembly:

-Edit the part and select 'Exclude from Nesting' by right click on the top node in the tree.  This permanently ignores the part.

-the shapes tab on the nest study dialog has checkboxes for the parts to use, uncheck the ones you don't want.   This ignores the part in that nest study only.
