Crashing when migrating Custom Content Center Library to 2025

Hi All,  like the title says, I am migrating from '24-'25 and am consistently experiencing a crash when using the Update Tool.  I am a single user/ not in Vault.  My library is set to read/write and I have copied and pasted the original file to the new 2025 CC folder location.  I get to the third image below but once I click "Next" the program crashes ~0.25 seconds after.  

I have tried to upload my .idcl file but the forum doesn't support the file format. 

I access this library daily so any help would be greatly appreciate!!!

Hi Paul,

I guess the idcl file was updated in 2026 RTM build. If you still have the unmigrated idcl file, please install 2026.0.1 and update it again. This one is corrupted unfortunately.

@johnsonshiue Thankyou for the reply, just a clarification - this is for 2025 not 26.

Still crashing after this troubleshooting:  I've tried again with both the original 2024 .idcl file, as well a different .idcl file, I've also uninstalled/reinstalled Inventor 2025.3.  In all these instances Inventor still crashes in the same place.   I plan on troubleshooting by installing 2026 but I typically don't like adopting versions so early.... 

I've attached the original 2024 content center file that has not been migrated.

Hi!

When migrating the library you have to able all libraries where are the original components. Make sure you have all selected before update.

Select them here:

After migrating (and  able the libraries needed), your library will work at 2026 version... and should work also for other versions.

@CCarreiras Thanks for the help.  I've highlighted the library that requires updating, this is the only library that is shown with the update tool.  This is still crashing when updating from '24-25. 

The same '24 .idcl file HAS successfully migrated to '26, which has me stumped.  The problem is now I need everyone on my team to migrate to '26 😖

I solved the problem with a work around.  We migrated the file using a different machine that's on 2025.  Then I just copied the migrated file over to my Content Center Library folder and it works no problem.  

Very strange but at least the headache's over with!

Due security restrictions, some windows updates block some system folders, so,  sometimes windows block the writing permissions in some folders.

Check if your library folder has Read only permissions and disable it to be able to modify files inside that folder.
