We are an electrical company that deals with substations, transmission lines and distribution systems. I'm looking for a program that would work in Inventor that would allow me to calculate costs. For example, if we want to install a powerline and had the 3d model.iam or .ipt in Inventor, we need to make this model intelligent with all the costing information built in, making it intelligent and not just a 3D part.
I would need to extract information like:
1. Labor cost (number of men, man hours etc)
2. Equipment costs, that could be an individual off the shelf part, sq.ft of metal material and other customization catagories that we could add.
3. Material costs
4. Customization catagories that would suit our company
So basically this inventor model would have enough information within, we could enter from past experience what it would take to get this assembly, built and installed. Also would be good to incorporate in a major project so we could get totals, not just individual costs, costs of an entire project by adding the sum of all parts so to say.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how this could happen. Hopefully no major programming would be nice to have an off shelf software, any ideas would be great.
Thanks
