Corrupted IDW file? (Inventor 2009 - Large Assembly)

I have an assembly with about 1800 parts, and I had to make a design change. Since I made the change, I can't open the IDW file. It starts opening normally, but the part counter keeps resetting to zero once after a few minutes, counts back up to the same number, then resets. I then have to end task on Inventor, and if I try again, it keeps resetting on a different part number.

I can open the assembly file without problems. I've deleted the file and got latest version from Vault, same problem.

Any ideas?

Try with defer updates on.

Start to open the file and before you click open hit the options button right next to it and check "defer updates"
