Copying Revision table between drawings

Hi All,

   I am using IV2018. When I started here, I used straight lines or rectangles with partitions to make change /revision table and the field size was issue. Off late, I realised there is revision table on idw which is flexible to make multiple line entry. I have amended it to fill in custom columns and want to use for rest of the drawing. 

   What I have done is created new style in style library and exported out to save as xmlstyl and on every drawing (prior to this), have to import and input data. I know for future drawings, I can save this idw as new number and use them. I want to replace existing line table (so far) with this new rev table. Is there a way I can copy and replace revision table as a sketch symbol? There is no option on revision table to copy. In Short, how do I reverse apply the revision table to prev drawings?

Hi Yash,

I don't know if I understand the problem correctly but I think you have to make a template with the style you want.

Then in your old drawing, with the "line table", insert a revision table and update the styles.

Then change the style of the revision table to your own style.

I think you will need to use some iLogic to achieve what I believe you're trying to achieve. 

1. You want to replace your current sketch symbol revision table with the Inventor revision table correct?
2. Do you also want to transfer the information in your sketch symbol revision table and enter that into the Inventor rev table that is replacing it automatically?

You may be better posting the question into the inventor customization forum as well.

Hi @mikejones @tobias,

Yes you both are correct in getting my problem. I will update the rev table and replace sketch rev table with Inventor table. However, I don't know to use I-logic.  I have tried doing update option n works well. 2nd point is not required. I will enter custom notes in new revision table as its more than a line. 

 Hows inventor customisation forum different to this ? Thank you for help.
