Content hardware Library and ASME specifications in Inventor

Hi,

 

is the Content center library for the hardware ANSI hardware designator is standard to be called up directly in Bill of material to be purchased from any screws and other hardware manufacturer and distributers? example of machine a screw flat head 100 degree, Philips,  4-40UNC, 0.5" LG, stainless steel 18-8 or 316 can be called in Bill Of material as part number: ANSI B18.6.3 - 4-40UNC X 0.5 (the standard  part number does not calls the head angle and the type of drive?) description: Flat head screw, 100 degree, philips,  4-40UNC  X .50" LG; material: stainless steel 18-8 or 316, passive if required,

if someone call tell me if i upload Inventor bill of material the information of the part number can be used or it needs more standard info to add

Hi! I believe indeed Inventor's Content Center Library does generate standardized parts (fasteners and others) for 20 years. However, whether your vendors interpret the spec the same way as Content Center might be a different issue. Please try it out and see if your vendors recognize the parts correctly.
