Constraining issues

I have 2 constraining issues.

• My "show preview" box is gray'd out and can't be checked.
• While constraining, putting a (-) in front of a dimension results in no change.

1)  I can't help with the preview box

2)  For the (-) sign, simply change the sign, then move the part using "Free move" command (Keyboard V) and/or "Free rotate" (Keyboard G) to the approximate place it should end up. Drag it with your mouse and it should snap right in place. Looks like Inventor understands there are 2 possible locations for these constraints. I get this often.

Like JDMather described. Can you make a screenshot of your problem.

I think that the greyed out problem comes because Defer Update is checked within the application options.

Cleaqr the checkbox and try again.

It was a "defer update" issue.  Since I unchecked that box everything has working properly.  Thanks for your help!!
