Computer/System Requirements to get by on

I am new to the teaching word. I will be teaching Inventor. I would like to get a laptop for home use (grading etc.), on a teachers salary, that can handle Inventor system requirements.

Will I be ok with an "over the counter" graphics card?

I would like to get a some what affordable laptop. Any advice out there?

I5-I7 .... 8gig's ram ... a good gaming video card is what I have in a laptop that works .. a good Nvidia Geforce or Radion ... not saying this is for every day work ..but make sure you meet the requirements of the year software you're using

My home system (tower, not laptop) is an i3 and an old mid-level Radeon card, runs Inventor just fine for home use purposes (Inventor forum problems and occasional personal design projects).

Get at least a 17" screen with numerical keypad, and I would get a second monitor as well.
