Compound Sheet Metal Cone

I've struggled with these cones before. I still can't dial them in, and don't need to do them too often. Standard cones and transitions are no problem. I do them all the time.

Attached is a part that is imported from a Solidworks file. It is a cone that is supposed to interface with a radiused face. It is all the proper dimensions, in terms of openings and height, but because of the height and radius differences, I can't get it to flatten out.

Any suggestions?

Can you Attach the original *.sldprt file here?

The orginal is 64mb, and modeled into the entire assy. Dropbox link work for you?

Only need one *.sldprt file, not the entire assembly.

Hi! Inventor only supports partially spline face unfold. Unfortunately, Flat Pattern does not work on this case. You may want to use Unwrap command to flatten the face. Then you can thicken the surface body as a flattened body.

Many thanks!

@miker

Where did you go?

I could remodel the geometry from your file, but it would take significantly less time if I had the original *.sldprt file.

Sorry, trying to get *just* the .sldprt  file for the one cone. We didn't create it, we are inventor based, and our only Solidworks license is tied up with our CAM dept. If I can get it separated out I will post it soon.

Typically 95% of Solidworks files come to us and I can just import or derive no problem.
