I have the attached STEP file that I am trying to convert to a solid and then cut away a section.
These are the import settings I am using.
Trying to cut away 3/4s of the entire part as a final result.
This does not seem to have any effect. It seems the orange part is a 'composite' and did not get made a solid successfully via import.
This happens often. Luckily, it is simple enough to fix (see attached file):
@Gabriel_Watson Thanks for the reply. It seems I can't seem to select the correct Edges for the patch. Is there any visual user interface cues as to what needs to be select? I see the outline in red, and confirm after selecting that area with the boundary patch tool that the area is highlighted, but I can't seem to fix the gap.
