Combine Extrusions

In Inventor 2013 I have created two solids in one part thinking I could combine the two into one part. When I click the combine button this error message rears its head, "You must have at least two bodies to combine". Looking at the browser it shows both solids as bodies, What am I doing wrong? Thanks

You didn't create Extrusion2 as separate body.

Workplane1 is not needed.

Sketch2 is not constrained and has sick (pink) geometry.

JD,

I've gone half way thru the 60 tips and I must say what you sent is invaluable I would encourage any newbie to go thru that before doing another thing in Inventor.

Thanks,
