Hi,

Please see the attached profile sketch and images around the circle, when I tried to extrude solid extrude is success, error message shows open loop.

In the sketch environment I right click and and tried to fix the close loop, again error message pop up due to constraint.

( See the attached image ) and it is repeating ?

How to fix this issue

Try changing the project geometry (yellow) lines to construction

Hi! This is an interesting issue. I think the problem with the profile is that it is indeed open. Edit the sketch and zoom in to the vertical line with a dimension of 8.85 (upper left). The bottom of the line is actually not constrained to anything. You need to delete the dimension and add a coincident constraint between the line and the arc. Then the profile will be closed.

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

Appreciate the quick response !

Thanks the problem solved.

I just wonder the I tried the close loop feature to fix the issue, it says there is a open loop but it hasn't pointed out or highlight which location !

The issue some thing like in a complex sketch will take a long time to zoom and check.

Hello @lkirit2000 you have a situation where it is almost over-constrained to where the set dimensions don't allow for the gap to be closed. Here is a screencast showing how to edit the setup and close the profile.

The over constraint problem with Autodesk products makes them extremely difficult to use. I can design 10 times faster in Rhinoceros because the software doesn't add junk like this to my drawings. I am literally struggling on most organic designs in Inventor because of this persistent and completely unnecessary constraint issue.

Hi! If possible, please share an example here or start a new thread. I am not sure I understand the issue from your brief description.

Many thanks!
