Our templates by default are set up for inches. In ALL other CAD (SolidWork, Solid Edge, Creo, Unigraphics) programs it is a simple toggle in the settings for the file you have open. If I'm forced to use a template with INCH units, I can change the units to metric. In these forums, everything I see for responses is to change create a new template. What if you start with an inch template and then after you've spent HOURS on a complete model, now the boss wants it in metric. How do I change the units so on EVERY dimension I don't have to type "XX mm". I've never had a CAD program that made a simple "permanent" conversion of the units from inch to metric or metric to inch so difficult. Either I'm missing something, or it is really stupid to have to create a new template and REMODEL my part just to have metric be the default in the current file.

I'm in Canada.  We use Met-perial unit.  🤣

I use same unit in models, inch.  Since IV5.3.

Dimension in model can take and units: in, mm, m, ft etc.

Drawing is set to inch.

The trick is in Style.

Setup up dimension Styles to show mm and use a mm Titleblock.

Or use inch and mm alternate to show both.  So boss/customer can flip flop as many times they want.
