Changing Assembly Opacity

Hi All,

Not sure if this is possible, but I'm creating production drawings for machines which we design and manufacture in house and some machines are quite complex with several sub assemblies inside of a main assembly body.

What I would like to do in my drawings is show a view of the machine but fade the opacity of the outside body parts so it becomes more clear as to where other components are placed inside the machine to our workshop team.

Is this possible or would the better solution be using the break-out command to show specific detail inside a machine?.

P.S

these drawings get printed out on A3 paper when we start building our machines

Any help and guidance much appreciated.

Hi! I am wondering if the following would work. Create  a shaded view in the drawing. Set outside part to transparent.

@Anonymous  If you are just doing unshaded (Hidden Line Removed) drawing views you can also right click on your outside body part in the model browser of the idw or just with the part selection filter set and select "Transparent" from inside the drawing environment.
