Change Drawing Sheet Scale

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

I copy and pasted two views from a different sheet in the same drawing file, and it is using the wrong scale. I have a bottom view of my assembly, and a detail view of that assembly.

I have a title block in place, and the field text for the scale is using the detail scale instead of the scale for the actual model.

I can see the problem, just don't know how to fix it.

Thanks in advanced!

Since 2016, Inventor has shown the scale for the first placed view. If you delete that view, the next one is picked.

Is it possible that you pasted the detail view first? Can you try deleting the detail view, and then pasting it in by itself? Also (long shot here) does selection order matter regarding which view was placed first?

For reference, see this article.

Right click the view and click Edit View.  You'll get something like this.  Set your scale in the Scale field.

You were correct with your long shot, selection order does matter. Just tested it on a new sheet, and depending on which view I select first when i copy, that is the scale the drawing selects.

The only fix I have found for this issue is copying and pasting the views, selecting the view with the scale I want displayed first.

Thanks for your help!

Hi! Are you using two monitors? Is the dialog coming up from the other monitor? Another thing to try is to reset Inventor settings. Go to All Programs -> Autodesk -> Inventor 20xx -> Tools -> Inventor Reset Utility. It will reset all Inventor settings back to install default.

Many thanks!
