CE logo as a block/DXF/DWG

I got a DXF with the CE logo downloaded. But i wish to store it as a block. How do i do that?

I wish to insert it into a sketch then scale it. So i keep its proportions but get to scale it to the right size.

Cant scale it to size:

Hallo @MatsNorway1 ,

you can create a parameter (CE_Height = 20 mm) and constrain the logo using formulars (CE_Height*0,7 ...).

Creating a block, you can copy this block to another part and set CE_Height to an other value.

Using one block with different scales in the same part seams not possible.

You can make a sketch symbol out of it. Then save that to a sketch symbol library. When you go to place the symbol, there is an option to scale, or you can place then use the grips to scale to the desired size. This is of course if you are wanting the symbol in a drawing, or do you want it on a part instead?

Where do i save a sketch to the library?

When you right click and choose new sketch symbol and you have designed it or brough in acad geometry, in the ribbon there is the "finish" button and you give it a name. This will be saved locally to the drawing.

Now you can right click on the symbol and choose Save to Symbol Library.

The symbol library drawing is defined in the Tools > Application Options > File Tab > Sketch Symbol Library Folder

This can be a saved drawing in a shared folder for multiple users to see.

Once saved into the symbol library, you can remove it from the drawing. This will keep your template from being bloated with a bunch of un-used symbols and only the ones required.

Hope that helps

@MatsNorway1 Are you only adding it at the drawing level or do you wish for it to travel as part of the part geometry?

You can just create that as a part and derive it into whatever part you want it to show up in.

No, wish for it at part level. Currently i got a Block for CE logo. Its dumb. Because its not that easy to scale. But i guess a tiny bit easier to handle.

Sketches/symbols/blocks in idw is for annotation only. Parts gets to have part features. Chancing idw/idw anything should not chance your part. (In theory)

@MatsNorway1 If you create the single logo part and derive it in where you need it, you can scale it on import, would you like me to show you an example?

With some pictures that would be greatly appreciated.  As i could apply it to logo etc. The key is to get a rounded number text height when you want it.

Yeah nah, it works for parts being cut from a DXF and not having any spesific text height requirements but not for much else.

As an example:

I scaled the text as geometry, since i put the first dimention on top and bottom i got it to 5mm the first time. But now, if i want to chance it. I have to add the unconstrained geometry again and scale it. I can not edit the CE again without a huge hassle. as scale from first dimention only happen the first time you add a dimention.

There should be possible to make a pair of points visible through the sketch block. And scale it by putting a dimention on the points.

I made an iFeature of the CE mark which sounds like it would work for you. I have attached the iFeature file and the original part file I used to generate the iFeature from. You can add this to any part and change the height of the text and depth of the extrusion. I think I got the dimensions of the CE mark correct, but if it needs to be correct you might want to double check it.

well the forum doesn't seem to like ide files, so that one is zipped.
