Cannot reorder sketches in model browser

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm working in an ipt file.
I need to move sketch A below sketch B. Those sketches only depend on derived sketch at the very beginning of the part.
I need a point from sketch B projected onto sketch A, but because it is downstream, when I edit A, B disappears.

How do I reorder them?
Can I solve the issue in some other way perhaps?

Of course
I've included Reference.ipt too just in case (i don't know if it is necessary)

I know the part is a mess - it's been redone a few times

In your browser tab, left in the Program, find the sketch-right click on it -press visbillity then you are able to se the sketch to your new drawing.

is this what you wanted?
I hope this was helpfull.
Did I answer your question please accept this as solution.

No, the sketch i need to project from was created after the sketch I'm trying to edit - Inventor ignores it's visibility setting.

sometimes, you can drag the features around, and the if you can have them turn around, the sketch will be visibel
I hope this was helpfull.

I do not see any sketches labeled Sketch A and Sketch B.

Did you for get to rename them in the file you attached?

If so, what are their current names (numbers)?

What version of Inventor and what service pack are you running? There is a problem in the latest build that can cause this behaviour.

Here's the article I was thinking of:

Do you think that this is the issue?

I haven't looked at your part file, but in general:

- You can't move a feature/sketch/work feature that is a child above it's parent in the model tree

- You can't move a feature/sketch/work feature that is referenced by something above it

- You can't move a feature/sketch/work feature that is constrained by something above it

the only possible work arounds are:

- Remove the link and link to something else

- Move the parent feature with the child

Hi @Anonymous

I am also having the same problem (inventor 2016 build:210), so I stitched together some iLogic code, and attacjed the .ipt file below (Inventor 2016 .ipt ) hopefully this helps until the problem is solved with the next update! It doesnt have any error checking and can only be run in part (.ipt) files.

To run the rule, open (PartBrowserReorder.ipt), go to the "Manage" tab > "iLogic" > and select the "iTrigger" button. You will notice that you will not be able to reorder the (Line) sketch above the (Square) sketch as the (Line) sketch has been created with projected geometry from the (Square) sketch. You will need to delete all the (Square) sketch projected geometry constriants from the (Line) Sketch first.

Hope this helps.

Ok.
I love you. In fact, i love you so much that I will accept is as a solution, even though a bloody hotfix would be a solution... (glares at Autodesk)
Thank you so much.
