Cannot onstrain a freeform inside an assembly

Hello everyone.

As mentioned in the subject of this post I would like to ask you a little help on constraining freeforms inside an assembly:

I have created a freeform but when I place it into my assembly and click on "Constrain" no surfaces can be selected. I can just place constraints on axes and planes of the freeform, nothing else. I left some polygons untouched (parallel to planes) hoping that they could be used to obtain the constraint i needed, but it was no use.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Model with reference to the Origin Planes and create work features as needed.

Can you post the file or at least a image here for more precise instructions?

Thank you so much for the solution JDMather. It worked. 🙂

The model is already been built symmetrically. My teachers always insisted on that. 🙂 I have been able to finish my assembly (posted a picture).

Thank you again. 🙂
