Can you customize the counterbore settings Inventor uses as a default?

We use a larger head fastener that requires a larger/deeper counterbore than the Inventor std.  Can this be customized to show up as the default when using a counterbore hole feature?  In this example for 1/4" screws we need a 3/4" dia x 3/16" deep counterbore instead of the Inventor 1/2" dia x 5/32" deep standard.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

Have you tried editing "Clearance.xls" to what you want and see what happens?

Clearance.xls is located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2016\Design Data\XLS\en-US" if a standard install.

I hope this helps

Thanks for your efforts.  I tried changing the values in the spreadsheet but it made no difference.  Anybody know where the values are stored or how to save a custom hole setting in a template?

Thanks

Good question, if you can't a work around might be to create the straight through bore hole and then place an iFeature with the diameter and depth required. The only problem with this is you won't get the all the meta data for the hole and counterbore in your drawing when using the Hole-Dim.

Inventor always seems to start at the beginning/top of the table in Excel. I wish it would remember the "last used" data.

Make sure you are editing the proper file.. (may even need to restart after you have changed the file)..

To find the proper location go to File (big "I")...manage..projects.. then expand the "folder options" section and find the location of the "Design Data"..

Your clearance.xls file is located there (inside the XLS folder)

I suspect you just edited the default one and not the one you are currently using..
