Can't save file dwg, Inventor Professional 2022

So,

I have a dwg file saved with the a boarder, title block etc that I want to use when I print out drawings from inventor.

However, I can not save them once I edit it and import my views etc.

When I click save I get a prompt box that says "The current operation requires data from document....but it cannot be found. The document may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. The operation must either be aborted or the file located"

The file is there, there is no problem with the directory address...

Hi! I am sorry I don't understand the problem. I open the dwg file in Inventor and click Save. The file is saved as an Inventor dwg file. Is this not what you were seeing?

I down load the file from here too and I keep getting this message when I try to save.....see attached image..

Does it do  this with a new drawing, using the Inventor templates?

Can I suggest that you start building a new template with new borders and  title blocks etc.

In the long run this will be much more efficient, as you can leverage the iProperties, also use the Inventor generated revision table instead of a block.

The AutoCAD template will just slow you down.

It is to do with this specific file,  If I use one of the pre-defined files e.g. ANSI(mm).dwg it saves fine....

It could have something to do with the x-refs. It worked for everyone else, because the files do not exist, but they exist for you, so I am making the assumption that these are causing the issue.

As mentioned earlier, try and make new templates. I do understand that this is quite a daunting task, and they sometimes take a while to get them just right, but it's worth it in the end.

Tips, if you need to get information from the parts and assembly iProperties, the components must be present on the drawing in order to access said properties, the views can then be deleted once you are done.

I personally prefer using IDW instead of DWG, amongst other things, it easier to distinguish between the two software packages. Your choice though, personal preference.

I took your advise and remade it in Inventor, it was rather annoying, but it worked.

Still not sure what caused the initial problems.
