Can I link part's material to a library? When I modify the library material I want that parts auto-update

I created a library called "My library" whit my materials, I created the material named "steel" and assigned it to 50 parts.

Tomorrow I edit in "My library" the "steel" material changing the name to "steel 2". I would like the 50 parts to autoupdate the material to "steel 2" but this doesn't happen because when I assign a material to a part, it is copied in to the document as a local material.

There's a way that I can autoupdate the material of all parts this way?

If the name is changed, it will not sync.

Different name is a different material.

Same name will sync with this:

Other ideas to auto-update a modify in the material?

I need it to auto-update drawings in which I put a text box whit the iProperties "Material"

And other question:

to modify a material in a library I only can create a copy from library to part, modify it, and then recopy in the library.

There is not a way to directly modify the material in the library?

Might need iLogic or addin to go through and update all old files.

Can't edit Material in library.

Copy to file, edit and save to library.

Don't use "Duplicate".

It make a copy of material, appearance and physical instead of linking.

Creating -1,-2,-3 styles.

Just change the name in file and copy it to library.

I have some experience whit iLogic but I'm not a programmer, any ideas on how to write a code to keep updated all my files?

I don't have any code to copy Material Library.

It's something I planned to do.
