[BUG] Inventor 2026 OPEN file GUI

The pop-up browser that appears when selecting the OPEN option offers a Minimize option, but once minimized there isn't a way to get it back that's user friendly nor does it remind you that the GUI is opened and minimized.

It isn't creating a 2nd window on the Windows Task bar (behind the Inventor icon) to re-activate the GUI.  If you forget that the window is open and minimized, then every click you attempt with the main Inventor interface results in a negative "ding" from Windows and the Inventor application appears to the user to be locked up.

If you ALT+TAB through your active windows, the Open window does not show up in the list; but if you select Inventor again then it will re-activate the Open GUI.

I recommend to either

1) Create an additional icon behind the Inventor icon on the Windows taskbar so that when hovering over with a mouse the Open GUI will appear and can user selected

2) Remove the minimize option so that GUI is always on top if Inventor is the active app.

Hi

This issue does not occur in version 2026.1.

Have you installed all Inventor updates on your computer?

Indeed I have, and my mistake for not noting my current version.

Is this what you're talking about? Mine minimizes to the lower left; it doesn't minimize to the windows taskbar, I guess it stays minimized within the program since the open dialogue box is a part of that program. But yeah, when I did that, I had a panic moment trying to find out where on my screen it went.

Thanks to your screen shot, I did finally notice that little box; I have a lot of icons on my desktop so I never saw it.  I also have an ultra-wide monitor so it's placed far away from all the other minimized icons on my windows task bar which is located in the middle of my screen (Win11) vs the lower left corner where this gets moved to.

Okay, no longer a bug but it certainly is hard to notice.  At least I can now answer some trouble tickets in house now.

It may not be a bug, but it could still be a little more obvious/noticeable (maybe a longer box across the bottom, perhaps).

The taskbar is where we already are used to going to for minimized windows, I would prefer using what's already familiar before re-inventing the wheel here and simply treat it like any other window and give it a nested icon behind the main Inventor icon on the taskbar.

If it can't be integrated with Windows, minimize it within the Inventor window instead.
