[Bug] Cant save file after section view

Hi, i am having problems with saving my edits editing a file I received from our supplier.The file has surface bodies, and i try to repair the gaps.

But as soon as I make a section view, I cant save anymore. Save-as doesnt work either.

I can change geometry, no problem saving. But as soon as I make a half-section view, it wont.

I included the file i am working on. I'm using Inventor Professional 2022 build 287

Hi! This is a confusing behavior. The half section view is a Design View modifier. It has to be saved in an unlocked Design View rep. The typical part only has the locked Master (Primary) Design View.

To save it, create a new Design View rep. You will be able to save it.

Thanks, that solves my problem. But i didn't get any warnings about it. Is it a Prompt text that I suppressed or isn't there a warning in general?

I was having a problem with saving after using the half section view. After redrawing the part and deleting the program & reinstalling it I was looking at the View: [Primary] clicked on a few view I was able to save

Hello!

I'm having a similar issue with Inventor 26. Just switched over from Inventor 2021 today.

With Inventor 21, if I would temporarily use Section View then End Section View I would have to expand the Representation tab, switch from Master to Default and back to Master, in order to save the assembly.

Now with Inventor 26, I also get that same "cannot save" warning if I try to save an assembly after turning off Visibility for some of the parts. To save the assembly I have to switch from Primary to Default then back to Primary (which automatically turns Visibility back on to all parts).

Never had to do this with Inventor 21.

This is very inconvenient when working on large assemblies where Visibility needs to be off for certain parts to see the parts I'm focusing on because I'll have to turn Visibility back off for those parts every time I want to save my progress.   

Why does this happen?

Is there any way around this?

Hi! I believe the prompt can be dismissed. Please go to Tools -> App Options -> find the prompt -> set Prompt to "Do not Ever Prompt Again."
