Hi,

Every time I open a Bill of materials for an assembly the filename column in the model data tab is not populated with values.  I have to de-select(remove) the filename colum and then re-add it again to see the filenames.  Then if i close the BOM and re-open they are gone again!

For me this is the situation for every assembly/bom.  I have attached a screenshot of what i see before and after removing/re-adding the filename column to the model data bom tab.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi! The behavior does not look right to me. It seems that somehow the files are not fully loaded. Do you have Express mode turned on? If yes, try turning it off (close all files and go to Tools -> App Options -> Assembly -> uncheck "Enable express mode").

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

I just tried disabling express views then and it made no difference.

Hi! Please share Inventor files with me ([email protected]) directly. I would like to understand the File Name behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

The behaviour happens to me in any assembly in the model state tab of bom but this attached assembly is the latest one I saw it in.

Hi! Many thanks for sharing the files! I can see the behavior by using the files. Indeed, the "Filename" column is empty initially. Maybe it is related to your iam template file.

Do you have a custom iam template file or you are using the Standard template iam file?

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

I just used the default assembly and some clean parts instead of my template iam/ipt files and the filename column under the model tab of the bill of materials still is unpopulated when you close and reopen the bom.

Am not sure if i am the only person seeing the behaviour?

Hi! I am able to reproduce the behavior from scratch on 2025. This is a regression from prior releases. It used to work correctly. I need to work with the project team to understand the issue better. It has been reported as INVGEN-80887.

Many thanks!
