Bolted Connections

When utilizing the sub-assembly function in "Bolted Connections", is there a way for the sub-assembly the bolted connection creates to be shown in the BOM as the assy and not the individual parts? I tried to change the BOM status of the assembly to "Normal" from "Phantom", but that just calls out all sub-assemblies in the BOM as " Bolted Connection" and groups them together as one part...

I.E. If I use the bolted connection command to insert 15 different bolted connection sub-assemblies, I need them to show up on the structured BOM as the 15 different sub-assemblies, not 42 different individual fastener components.

Is this possible?

I believe you you then just need to change the Part Number and desription/titles of the sub-assemblies. If they all have the same PN then the parts list will roll them up into 1 line item.

There is a toggle button in the main dialogue top toolbar the furthest right button. This will allow switch between individual parts or a sub assembly.

Hi! I think what Davey is asking can only be done by changing the BC subassembly's Document Settings -> BOM -> to Normal or Purchased. However, the Document Settings ribbon button in BC subassembly is grayed out. Maybe an iLogic rule with some API calls can help set the BOM structure attribute to Normal/Purchased.

Many thanks!
