Background Image impacting memory?

So, typically most users use the basic plain jane background in Inventor, maybe go as fancy as a gradient style:

bk01.PNG

But what about when a user uses one of the real fancy backgrounds Inventor offers....or even one of their own:

bk02.PNGbk03.PNGbk04.PNG

Does this impact performance in any way?

Honestly, I don't think it does because it's static, but it's been questioned and I didn't have a solid answer.

Anyone know?

I dont have any actual data to back this up but I've always known that having these pretty Inventor backgrounds have impacted performance and I have always recommended to users not to do this.  Yes, technology in graphics card and PCs have changed and perhaps these pretty image backgrounds no longer have a big impact on performance but I would still recommend for users not to do it.

@Mark.Lancaster  Thanks. I always wondered if they did or not. I know, for myself, I couldn't work with some of those background images offered out of the box and then I've seen some custom ones being used and I'm like "how in the world do you eve see what you're doing?"

I ask because I have a user with, what I consider a "busy" background image he's uploaded and he's always had memory issues with his machine. Now, granted, he works with some of the largest files we have here and it doesn't surprise me he's maxing out his system. I just wondered if the background image being used may contribute to such or not worth noting?

I'm hoping someone from Adesk would be able to chime in. @johnsonshiue ? Are you able to possibly enlighten us on this any?

Hi Guys,

This is new to me. I am not aware that background image can play an active role in memory consumption. I need to check with the project team and get better understanding.

Many thanks!
