Autodesk Material 4140

I've got a client asking about the similarity between materials 4140 and 4142.

 

From the client:

Currently, I see 4130 and then 4142 with some of the heat treated versions.  From what I've found online, it looks like 4140 is very similar to 4142.  But, I would like to know if Autodesk has anything to comment on the 4140.

 

 

Anyone know materials enough to comment on this?

Some useful info on these materials on makeitfrom.com

 

i think the difference between 4140 and 4142 is characterised by a different in the Carbon content of the steel (slightly higher in the 4142)

Slightly higher Chromium and Carbon in the 4142 over 4140.
