my subscription expired, I couldn't figure out how to re-instate it, and instead got a new serial number. It won't activate though... instead it's giving me an error code 800c0005.  In theory there is another way to get an activation code to activate manually?? multiple calls to the sales and tech support lines yielded no results. much time wasted and now a week later...  Anyone have advice?

I still have ~30minutes of part/drawing modifications to be done. Are there any shortcuts to curmumvent the problem to get my drawings fixed and out the door?

By "calls to sales and tech support" do you mean you have called your VAR?"

You might download and install trial of  r2016 to get the drawings done.

Hi kevin,

I'm hesitant to reply at all due to the title of this thread Smiley Wink, but there is this:

Installation and Licensing Forum:

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Hi Kevin,

I'm sorry to see that you've had difficulty reaching us but submitting a case with this team will help as I could not find any other contacts in our system associated to your name or email address.

For licensing assistance, please contact the Activation and Registration team through our Contact Us page. Please be sure to select a sub-topic at the bottom of the page (the gray buttons) so that the contact options become visible.

Thank you!

would be a good solution were it not for the fact that the "contact us" doesnt actually allow some one to contact you !

Yet another endless loop of refering pages and links that lead to ........wasting time and getting no where.

Online assistant available ...until you click it then its busy with "heavy traffic"

Hi @philm - Thank you for your feedback, we are continuing to improve the "contact us" experience. Be sure to click on the gray  buttons at the bottom of each section so that the contact options can be seen. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist you with.

Thanks again for your comments!

Hi Jessica

You may assume that users of autodesk products and certainly most members that post to your forum enjoy a modicum of common sense.

Please take some time to investigate the issue . Rolling out a stock answer from your  no doubt endless, list of "at least reply then they feel part of the community" statements doesnt hack it.

If you have the opportunity, go and visit a user and without any coaching from your good self ask them to access the autodesk system and "contact autodesk"

Hopefully such an experience would teach you first hand what a frustrating experience it can be at times.

Regards

Phil

I recommend that next time you go through a VAR as they can offer personalized help.

Thanks JD, I will certainly try it next time but being in Singapore and subjected to the time zone differences doesn't help matters. I often find the forums the best course of action.

While i do my utmost to accept the complexities that Autodesk must face regarding licensing, i feel a simple 1 desk end user like myself is subjected to a cascade of verification and passwords and the like.

How much easier was it when we purchased the DVD's with password ...1 request and authorization code ..Problem solved and i could get on with my work.( which is what i purchased the software for of course)

It may have improved now ( i certainly hope so) but the Autodesk online system a few months back simply couldn't comprehend that the system administrator of my subscription and the 1 desk user were one and the same person .....me.    Truly frustrating

just an update:
Autodesk was not able to provide support to get my license up and running.
I was unsuccessful in getting useful assistance from both the tech and
sales support lines with multiple calls, and much lost time. The only
promising response was when I asked to cancel my subscription and
re-imburse the payment (but of course they didn't actually perform either
of these steps for me)

I moved on to working with MCAD and Solidworks... great service and great
software! Autodesk should stop advertising/selling services (ie. product
support for subscriptions!! ) that they cannot adequately provide! I still
want my $$$ back!

Having a bad day today?

Perhaps if you can explain a bit someone here might be able to resolve your issues?
