Authoring mechanical component to custom content center category

Hello,

I'm trying to create new contetn center components. I managed to do it for some custom washers we use. They're working like a charm. But when I try to do the same with mechanical component to a new category I created it doesn't work.
Is this a limitation of Inventor or am I missing something. I could publish the part normally but iMates wouldn't work in that case...

What version of Inventor?  What do you see when trying to publish to your custom category?

I have created, and published to, a custom sub-category (under Structural Shapes), but have not tried to create a new category.

I'm using Inventor 2024.2.1 Build 272.
The thing is my new category doesn't even show up at all.
Should show up in shaft parts but there isn't anything there, see screenshot below:

Which is weird since the category shows up in the content center editor.

Hi, is your custom library read-only? Please also try running Inventor as an admin if not.

Sorry, I've just realised what you're doing. You can only author to standard categories. You can publish to any folder. but the iMates you talk of will only work if you author and publish to a standard.
