Asset size problem, bug or file damaged? Inventor 2014

Hello

I have a problem when I create Asset in Inventor 2014 and use it later in the Factory Layout.

I must wait 20 minutes to change one parameter in the Factory Layout. Then I think that maybe the size of Asset is too big and I try to find the reason.

But I have found something interesting:

The original *.ipt is complex and full with different features, parameters and I-Logic rules. The size is 31.3 MB.

Then I deleted all the features, parameters and rules. The 3D model is a simple volume body (20mm x 20mm x 10mm). But the size is still about 30 MB.

I think that there must be something wrong here. Is it a bug or is the 3D file damaged?

Maybe someone here is familiar with this bug or this problem? Please be so kind to help me!!! Smiley SadSmiley Tongue

Thank you very much!Smiley Happy

Hi Yisong,

Could you try below steps and report back?

1. Delete all features but surface left and Rebuild all

2. Save copy as to another file name or save directly

Note: please make sure you have a file backup firstly.

Please report the file size then.

Thanks!

 Hello Xun

Thank you for your reply. I did the two steps, delete all the features and Rebuild all. But the size is still the same and it's slow to save copy and open the file.

Hi Yisong,

It most likely the data was corrupted, better to have the data and we can simulate the root cause or where is the corruption from?

Thanks!

Hello Xun,

How can I send you the .ipt file to you (30 MB big)?  We create and use many assets in our company, but only this one has this problem.

Thank you very much.Smiley Wink

Hi Yisong,

You can send me via email (xun.zhang@autodesk.com) or you can also upload to somewhere and provide a link for me to download.

Either of them are fine for me.

Hi Yisong,

Yes, the data was corrupted, please avoid any further modification on top of it from now on.

It seems not able to recover the data from my end, sorry for that.

Thanks!
