while assigning balloon we pick a edge of the part to select it.

can we select the surface to give the balloon because i have a assembly in which all parts are cylinders in cylinders (approx 100) and if i select a edge

than its confusing that the edge is of inside part or outside part.

Hi Gauta,

actually there is not a direct solution, you can't use the select other tool.

I usually bypass this in this way:

the method you show is what i was donig also but i think still this is a confusion for the manufacturers to read

and also diffcult for the designer because for 3 parts its ok but what about 100 parts.

what i do now is take the drawing in auto cad and than giving names.

Can we do it by any customization.

You can drag the arrows to surfaces rather than edges.

(The arrowhead will change to dot, but you can right click and select style you want if you do not want dot.)

Can you post an image of your AutoCAD solution?

How are you getting AutoCAD to auto-balloon to faces rather than edges without arrowheads?

thanks for the help,

one more problem i am facing that-

i have different assembly(approx 200 and increasing) of cylinders in cylinders(approx 10,000) which keeps on changing

in length and diameters.

how can i customize the assembly enviroment so that this changing becomes easy.

the solutions that i know are ------call the part as i component and you can fill the values

-------make a rule and form change the dimensions in the form and assembly changed.(but to create this kind of form for so many dimensions is a tough tough task for these assemblies) one more problem is that sometimes i donot change dim but change the complete part

in that case all relations and rules can fail.

is there any easy way like-  i see my assy than i want to change one dia of a part just clicking it and changing the dim and all done.

what i do now is changing each component individualy and than assembling them.
