Whenever i section my assembly it comes up with the error attached. I've checked that the BOM is fine and i have checked "section all parts" in the application options... Can't see any other solution on the forums!

Can you attach one of the files listed in the error?

Sketch1 is missisng horizontal, vertical and tangent constraints?

Sketch1 is not dimensioned?

When I add the missing dimensions - they do not make logical sense to me?

What is the purpose of Extrusion3 (cut .00001mm)?  What manufacturing process is used for this feature?

Perhaps a Split face would have been better.

Base on these observations and years of experience diagnosing issues in Inventor, I would expect to find numerous issues in the completed assembly.

Can you attach the assembly?

Edit:  Upon further investigation I discovered lines overtop of lines overtop of lines overtop of lines....

I found the same as JD .. I remove Extrusion 3 it works fine.

However, I did it a bit different too. I did the sketch with the Bolt Circle of 372. Then made a hole on that sketch. Followed by a pattern of the hole. Vs all in 1 sketch.

I realized that i missed out the constraints... never realized that they were vital...

I've taken the sketch from a AutoCad Dwg file and copied it over

Extrusion 3 is to show in the drawing the Diameter of the area that need faced off so a bearing housing or a motor can sit flush to them... I didn't know any better way to do so

Thank You for your post

I would make a sketch in the IDW then for that.

Much easier in my opinion doing it on the 2d side of it. If it doesn't have any bearing on the 3D side....
