Angle Dimension Modifier - Text Position

Hi,

Please see image attached. You can see on the right hand side two angular dimensions. My style shows that angles up to 30 degrees from horizontal should place text on the inside of the dimension line. The 12degree dimension is fine, but the 6 degree dimension places it the opposite way round, which is just plain confusing to everyone picking up this drawing.

How can I change it? Am I missing something or is this a bug?

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Steve, look at your attached image again and focus in on the far left, in the lower half. There is a border-box that is labelled "Angle Dimensions". The preview circle shows what your dimensions will look like on paper. I think this dimstyle was intended for side x side dimensions, not nested dimensions like what you've got, where it can cause confusion. Personally the degree symbol is what I see first so I know which way the dim is oriented, but I can see where it could raise questions to casual perusal.

The first attachment "rotated dims.png" is where I tried to duplicate what you did to see if the pick-order of the centerlines created the isssue. It does not. Regardless of which CL is selected first the dims always end up like yours. That said, see the second attached "horizontal dims.png". I typicall do my angular dimensions in this fashion. All dimensions can be read from the bottom of the drawing. You might have to create your own dimstyle or modify an existing one to fix your situation. Possibly open your drawing template and make the changes there.

Anyway, happy Inventing!
