After Switching Printers I cannot print an idw

I usually only print A Size so my Default Printer is a HP Officejet 8610

If I send a Print to my HP Deskjet 9800 that can do B Size prints, then switch back to my HP Officejet 8610 for printing on A size drawings:   I can no longer print out drawings to the HP 8610 (For A Size)

The printer starts and makes some noise, but does not print anything

If I close Inventor 2019 and open it I can print to the HP 8610

The same thing happened to me with 2018

It's driving me nuts (Short drive but still!)

Edit: Windows 10 Pro

@w8wca

Inventor uses Windows print drivers.  You should have you IT support group make sure you have the latest print drivers for that printer and for Windows 10.

Update:  Also the 9800 printer is not supported under Windows 10 and that may be causing the some of your issues.   Meaning you may need to use a different print driver.

I did check - Windows 10 Device Manager says it has the current Driver

I see the HP 9800 listed on that HP page of Windows 10 supported drivers

I can print fine to it, I just cannot switch back to my HP Office Jet 8610 and print to it (the 8610)

(Without restarting Inventor)

I would remove the drivers and reinstall for the printer you are having the problem with.

One other point: It does not always work like this - sometimes I can print to the 9800 (for B Size) and switch back and it works.

It did this back in Windows 7 also for what that is worth.

And Both Printers are connected via USB Cable
