Add Column Level in BOM

Dear all,

I need to costumize the Bom list to export it for our ERP;

I need to add a couple of columns in Bom list; the first one is a column with the level of components; the second one is a column with the part number of father assembly;

I attach an example; I have the assembly NS001279 with inside some parts and some sub assembly; and I'd like to add the columns B and C (I signed them in orange)

Does someone know to do this?

You can add the new column in the BOM window, as shown in the attached image.

apologize, maybe I wasn't clear; 

I know how to add custom columns on Bom, but in this case I have to put the values in manual one by one...

I need something in atuomatic, maybe with some ilogic rules or other things

Hi! The way to pre-configure BOM table can be done within the template. Open the assembly template file (iam) and go to BOM table. The columns you add there will persist on any new assembly created from the template.

thanks, I undestood, but the problem is not to add columns in automatic, it's to fill them in automatic... 

so for parts in level 1 Inventor has to put 1 in the level column while if parts are in a subassembly Inventor has to put 2 in the level column...ect...

of couse the same parts (same part number) can be found on level 1 or 2 or 3...ect....

There is no out of the box way to do that in Inventor. 

You would need to look into using some custom ilogic programming to create custom iproperties of the "level" and "parent part number" fields. However if you reuse any parts in other assemblies and if the levels/parents aren't always consistent then none of that will work. (example: if a screw is used in 2 parent assemblies then you can't have it list both parents or how would it handle those situations) 

You are better off customizing your ERP import/parsing tool to understand Inventors BOM as currently presented. 

Or maybe create a script/parsing tool in the middle between Inventor and your ERP system to automate the creation of those columns.  That should be a fairly easy task for any competent programmer.

Hi! Another place you may check is Inventor App store. There could be an app doing what you are asking.

it's not possibile to change our ERP software to accept Inventor standard bom and I found nothing in app store

I manage it out of Inventor with a script in VBA; maybe it's possibile to replicate the rule inside ilogic; I have to try
