Hi guys I am new, just want to know what constraints should I define to make a screw moves realistically when I fit it in a threaded hole in assembly. I am working on inventor 2014. Many thanks 🙂

Rotation/Translation or Screw Joint.

Attach your assembly here if you can't figure it out.

Good morning 🙂

I have tried the constraint you mentioned, but all it does is rotating without going up/downward when it turns( the spindel part ), what can I do to fix it? Again thx.

Hi & welcome!

below is a link to a previous post with a couple of examples that might help. If not upload anything you already have as JD suggested and someone will be able to help you further.

Hope it helps,

Oic, thanks for the link

But I am still not sure if I did it right coz the movement still looks weird, heres what I got so far with a few screws on it.

BTW, I will put other parts together which will stop the gate's rotation and make it extends/retracts when I turn the handle, but I am afraid I won't be able to make inventor comprehand what I am trying to do Smiley Frustrated

Very early in your Inventor training you should have been introduced to the logical concept of assemblies built from a collection of components (parts and sub-assemblies).

An assembly without parts is useless.  Logically you must, of course, include the parts.

Well sorry for that I forgotSmiley Frustrated

Is that ok now? Plz ignore number 6 as its not completed yet

I think I had over-constrainted them, but I am not really sure

Again thanks.

I don't have an rar extractor - in my experience they install mal-ware in the background.

I keep my machine squeeky clean - and use only Windows Explorer zipping.

There appears to be an error in logic in how you have modeled this part.

O yeah I made the edge too thin for the fillet, fixed ty.

How about the screws? R those the right constraints?

I tried to mate the axis first then add rotation-translation to them, but like I said the motion still seem weird to me.
