You might look at Inventor Viewer, which is free and DWF which is easly exported out of Inventor.

Adobe & Autodesk, don't play well together or like each other.

Hi! You did not mention what release of Inventor you are on? 2017 R4 or 2018 RTM?

Many thanks!

Hi Serhat

Can you zip the assembly up and share it for some of to test and see why?

Do you have View Rep's?  Curious if everything is Check or no?

The company is prohibited from sharing pictures in a formal manner sorry.

I do not have any problems when I translate simple parts, but it does not exactly translate them into 3D pdfs in high-dimensional files.

what happens if you try to do some of those assemblies in this main assembly on their own, does it make the 3d pdf or fail?

3d PDF functionality in Inventor is still not working very well.. There are numerous issues..

The only thing you can really do is allow Autodesk access to your files so they can attempt to reproduce the issue and identify the file specific problems to attempt to address the issue in a future update..

I'm sure Johnson Shiue can setup a private FTP account or other method for you to share those files without them being publicly available.

If thats not acceptable then I would simply avoid using it for a while until they do a better job getting it working/bug free..

Thats the direction I've chosen for the last 2 years..

Its not stable/reliable enough to use in my opinion at this point..

Or yes.. sadly look into using DWF format to share those files instead..

Whichever version of Inventor you have, you can download the same version. Once you have inventor viewer with you, simply save it as 3D pdf file.

Thank you my friends!

I think it's a problem because file sizes are high. Can someone else have a high-res file in his hand?

So are you saying that only a portion of your assembly gets converted to 3D PDF?  Did you try changing the quality to "High" rather than "Medium"? Probably wont make any difference, but try it and see.

Also if you do save this as a DWFx, the party that you send it to will also need to have the DWFx viewer installed to view it.

Another option is to use the online collaboration tools.  I have tried it on a few things and it is getting much better, just not sure how it would work with a large assembly like this.  Try it on a smaller iam first.  In the lower RH corner of your Inventor screen click this to get started.

Have you tried saving the whole assembly as a STEP file and then opening that in Inventor and then trying to save that as a 3d PDF?

I thought thats one way to get around the bugs with native Inventor parts and 3d PDF failures..

I asked this earlier:

Are you able to 3d pdf at all ...or some of the assemblies that are in the main assembly?

Curious if it's this model or your PC that's having this issue

Mike

Hi Serhat,

This behavior sounds like a known issue on 2018 RTM, which has been fixed in an internal build targeting 2018 R1. If you can share the files with us, I should be able to tell where the exact problem is. Please share the files on a cloud drive of your choice (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com).

Many thanks!

Hi Michael,

We notice that in some assemblies, certain components are skipped in 3D PDF. Possibly, there is a occurrence name collision, files with the same name are in different folders, or design view attribute corruption. This issue should have been fixed on 2017 R4 already. 2018 RTM was released before 2017 R4, so the fix was not included in 2018 RTM due to the timing. It will be included in 2018 R1. And, 2018 R1 will have the latest 3D PDF component, which is newer than 2017 R4.

I still need to see the example to say it for sure.

Many thanks!
