3D PDF Export with Point Cloud Data

Will Point Clouds Export to a 3D PDF using Inventor 2017?  I have attached .RCP and .RCS files to both .IPT and .IAM files and can not get a visual representation to export yet.  Also used all 4 default 3D PDF Templates as well.

In other 3D visual tools you would have to set the "Model Render Mode" to "Vertices" but this did not seem to work either.  I have played with it a bit by clicked on everything I could and haven't seen to hit the right button yet.

Anyone have a success story to share?

I do have SP1 and the R2 Update, I have noticed there is an R3 Update that allows you to change the colors in the 3D PDF, but nothing about PC Data.

Out of curiosity..

What is the purpose of a 3dPDF of just point cloud data?

Wouldn't you want to use the point cloud to reconstruct the 3d geometry and then export those point cloud created features and not just the point clouds themselves?

It would be a mixed bag of both Point Cloud data and solids.  This would allow us to use PC data in our Visual Work Instruction using SAP VE.  My company wants our trades to only have to use one program to view data sets from multiple programs like AutoCAD, Inventor, Excel, SAP, NX and Catia.  SAP VE can view PC Data but to visualize all those points it kills the program, that's where I got the "Vertices" view from.

We don't have an as-built model, and to create one would take a lot of work, so we use point cloud data as a substitute.  To convert all our data sets to a mesh and then to a solid would take a lot of computing power since we can not use cloud services, and Recap currently does not support local point cloud to mesh conversions.
