3D Model Annotation

If I create an inventor model with 3D annotations, and save the file in a Catia V5 format, will Catia read in the annotations as well? I ask because I use a 3D tolerancing software package which can automatically import model tolerances from Catia, but doesn't support Inventor, and I'm trying to figure out a work-around.

I believe that Inventor will only export them to the step 242 format and nothing else...

Note: Currently Inventor only supports exporting 3d annotations from part files and doesn't export from assemblies..

When exchanging cad data to other systems I always use STEP as its a neutral format supported by most other 3d software packages..
