Hello,

is there a way to create 3D leade text annotation for multiple items (one annotation for multiple parts)?

Thank you.

I'm not clear on what you are asking...

Are you meaning that when in an assembly file can you have a single 3d annotation leader with multiple leader lines pointing to multiple parts?

If so no thats not currently possible..

Add a vertex to the leader line

You can add points to the leader line and drag the points to define additional vertices for the line.

  1. Select the leader text, right-click, and then choose Add Vertex/Leader from the menu.
  2. Move the cursor over the line, and then click to place the new point.
  3. Click the new point and drag it to the desired location.

It doesn't seem thats what they were asking about..

They were asking about adding more adding an additional leader lines and not adding a vertex to the existing line..

I assumed they wanted the equivalent of this but in the 3d annotation environment in a part or an assembly so that they can have one leader text and have multiple leaders to point to multiple parts

I assumed they wanted this which isn't currently possible in the 3d annotation.

is it still not possible to have multiple leaders for one annotation?

Hi Mark,

The ability to have multiple targets per annotation has been there for a long time. The workflow may not be that apparent. Here is what you need to do. After placing an annotation, right-click on it -> Add Vertex/Leader -> pick another piece of target geometry. You will be able to have multiple leaders.

Many thanks!

the option for adding vertex/leader isn't available on 3d annotations, the only option available is add vertex

Hi Mark,

Indeed, such workflow is not yet available in 3D Annotation.

Many thanks!

Six years later and this is what we've got:

 - Add/Remove Associated Geometries

...which doesn't show until you literally click/activate the annotation, because there's still no leader. Very easy to miss which makes me wonder what's the purpose of an annotation that you don't see? 🤔

7 years later and still I cannot add a vertex in a leader text using 3D annotation.
